The Rotary Club of Thornhill and District recently welcomed local hotelier Peter Gronbjerg as a member of the club. Peter is mine host of the Thornhill Inn, headquarters of the Thornhill and District Rotary Club.

Peter was born in Denmark but moved with his family to Scotland at the age of 12. In the 2000 the Gronbjerg's moved to Gillbank House in Thornhill to run it as one of the premier guest houses in the area. Later, in 2004 the family bought the George Hotel in Thornhill which they refurbished and renamed it the Thornhill Inn. Peter is responsible for much of the day-to-day running of this very popular and successful hostelry.

In presenting Peter to the club, President Gordon Steele said ‘I am delighted to welcome Peter to the club. I am sure his business experience and the support he has offered to local people will prove to be a valuable asset to the service the Rotary club can offer to our community at home and beyond.’
