YOUTH SPEAKS

Leyland Rotarians were delighted to cheer on three teams from Balshaw’s High School when they competed in the North of England Final of Youth Speaks in Frodsham on 21 April 2024.

The topics the young people tackled included ‘Extinction Rebellion do more harm than good’, ‘Tackling Youth Crime’, and ‘Universities should always be a bastion of free speech’.  The judges admitted they had a very difficult job to rank the competing teams and whilst Balshaw’s did not win, they acquitted themselves well and gained valuable experience and confidence from participating in the competition.

ANY SCHOOLS INTERESTED IN PARTICIPATING IN FUTURE 'YOUTH SPEAKS' COMPETITIONS, PLEASE CONTACT LEYLAND ROTARY.
