MARKING WORLD POLIO DAY

Chard Club's contribution to the World Polio Day Celebrations

Rotary Crocus Wheel

As part of it's contribution to World Polio Day, and to mark the 75th Anniversary of the Club receiving its' charter, members of Chard Rotary Club spent a wet Saturday morning planting purple crocus in a prominent part of the town of Chard.

A stalwart band of 5 Rotarians, together with the support of the President's partner, spent several hours, in sometimes heavy rain, planting the corms at the Beacon in Chard. The corms were laid out to form a Rotary wheel between the words Chard Rotary. Hopefully this will provide a display lasting over many years (Weather, squirrels and rabbits permitting).
