32 Club Members were present at Oake Manor- a number welcomed by the President.
Business Meeting: Community Service -John Binns: Year end disco details to follow. He reminded us of the need for all Club events to be supported by a Risk Assessment, otherwise Rotary insurance could be withheld.
Vocational - Phil Greenway: concentration on Technology Competition for schools.
International - Roderick confirmed that Kenyan project was underway.
House Programme: Colin indicated programme full until end of year, including two social events with details to follow, and a talk by John Binns - 'A not so cold Cold War 3'.
Members of the Club, 71 Club, Breakfast Club and Inner Wheel will be invited to the Xmas meeting on December 16th.
Communication : still no Chairman, and President Kathryn urged members to consider filling this position, and also to identify possible help to handle social media.
Halcon -Taunton East Development Trust: Paul gave a detailed presentation on the status of this huge project, including an update on achievements to date. The proposal - 'The Club commits, subject to availability of funds, to support Halcon in the sum of £5000 per annum for minimum of three years' - was approved by Members present.
Moonraker: Bill gave an update on Moonraker that will take place on 5th October. To date we have 34 teams and 190 walkers. Briefing documents will be issued as well as a briefing session for Checkpoint leaders beforehand.
Kathryn thanked Bill for all his work on this project which was enthusiastically supported by Members present. Well done Bill!!
