Community and Economic Development

A key area of Rotary's focus aimed at assisting communities to develop programs which improve their community and economic development

Building Communities

Rotarians are passionate about providing sustainable solutions to poverty

800 million people live on less than $2.00 per day

795 million people do not have enough to eat

60% of the World's hungry are women and children

70% of the World's population live in rural areas and are dependent on agriculture to make a living

Rotarians and our foundation work to strengthen local entrepreneurs and community leaders, particularly women, in impoverished communities.

Last year The Rotary Foundation spent $9.2 million growing local economies and reducing poverty
