Past District Governor Richard Green, from District 1210, joined the Rotary Club of Wolverhampton in 1997 and served as District Governor from 2015-2016.  In 2019 he became Director for the Indian Sub-Continent for Rotary Jaipur Limb.   Richard has taken several Rotary leadership roles both in his District and at RIBI level, has been a Group Study Exchange Leader to Malaysia, and is currently his District’s representative to the Council on Legislation. In 2010 he participated in a National Immunisation Day in India in support of the Polio Eradication Campaign.  He is also the organiser of the Rotary District 1210 Young Musician Competition, as well as being its MC.

Richard’s career was with Mowlem/Costain, as a Construction Project Manager, which, in retirement, led him to become a volunteer with The Rotary Foundation Cadre of Technical Advisers, through which he has visited a number of overseas projects.

In his spare time, Richard’s main hobby is amateur dramatics, and he directs productions for The Goldthorn Theatre Company in Wolverhampton, which he founded with his late wife, June, in 1997 and of which he is the administrator.  His dramatic talent is used to full effect in his talk on The Two Ronnies, which he is giving to The Rotary Club of Bishop’s Stortford on 16th November, ending with a couple of their sketches, using volunteers from amongst the club members.
