What we do

At the Rotary Club of Brentwood, we are a vibrant and inclusive group of volunteers dedicated to making a difference—locally, nationally, and globally. Since 1932, we’ve united people from all walks of life who share a passion for service, fellowship, and fun.

Supporting Our Community

We are proud to support a wide range of local causes through hands-on volunteering, fundraising, and community engagement. Our efforts include:

• Helping Local Charities: We raise thousands of pounds each year for local organisations, hospices, and community groups.
• Emergency Relief: We contribute to disaster response efforts both in the UK and abroad.

Seasonal Highlights

Our club is especially active during the festive season, bringing joy and raising funds through cherished local traditions:

• Father Christmas Sleigh Tour: Each December, Santa tours Brentwood on his sleigh, delighting children and collecting donations for local charities.
• Lighting Up Brentwood: We help run the town’s Christmas Grotto and serve mulled wine to warm up the crowds during this magical event.
• Christmas Grotto: Throughout December, we manage the town’s grotto, creating unforgettable memories for families.

Signature Events

We host several popular events that combine fun, community spirit, and fundraising:

• Charity Golf Days: Our annual golf tournaments bring together local businesses and residents for a day of sport and giving.
• Peter Franklin Memorial Lawn Bowls Cup: A friendly but competitive event that honours a beloved member and supports local causes.
• Strawberry Fair: A summer favourite where we serve cream scones and raise funds through games, raffles, and community stalls.

Monthly Virtual Quiz Nights

Every month, we host a Friday night virtual quiz in support of a different charity. These fun and interactive evenings bring together friends, families, and supporters from near and far—all while raising vital funds for a wide range of good causes. Everyone is welcome to join in!

Fellowship and Networking

We meet twice a month at the historic Marygreen Manor, where members enjoy engaging talks, plan projects, and build lasting friendships. Rotary is a place where professionals and community leaders come together to share ideas and take action.

Global Reach

As part of Rotary International, we also support global initiatives such as:

• End Polio Now
• Clean Water and Sanitation Projects
• Education and Health Programmes in Developing Countries
