International and Foundation Committee
Global impact through service, collaboration, and compassion
The International and Foundation Committee of the Rotary Club of Brentwood is dedicated to making a global impact through service, collaboration, and compassion. Guided by long-standing objectives, the committee works to:
- Support the club in delivering meaningful international projects.
- Maximise the use and awareness of Rotary Foundation funds—our own charity.
- Engage with District initiatives and grants.
- Maintain and grow our established international partnerships.
- Foster fellowship by involving members in hands-on service.
The committee—chaired by Rotarian Rose Bolton —continues to prioritise Polio Eradication, raising £700 through a World Polio Day quiz. We aim to repeat this successful event annually.
We proudly support Rotary Foundation UK through member contributions and promote initiatives like the Polio Plus Society and Sustaining Memberships. Our commitment to global aid includes donations to trusted charities such as ShelterBox and AquaBox, with recent support directed to Myanmar.
Our international collaborations remain strong. In partnership with Norresundby RC (Denmark) and Brentwood a Becket, we helped deliver 250 wood-burning stoves to families in Ukraine. We also continue our impactful work in Uganda, especially through our ongoing relationship with I Got Shoes, improving lives one step at a time.
Looking ahead, we plan to explore new fundraising avenues, including High Street collections, to respond swiftly to global disasters and strengthen our international presence.
