Supporting the environment - Rotary Area of Focus 7

Rotary's seventh area of focus is supporting the environment. This focus area aims to address climate change, promote sustainability, and protect natural resources.

One of our club’s prime motivations is to help the environment around us and we are fortunate to have as one of our Friends of Mildmay the Chelmsford Waste and Recycling department – ‘Love your Chelmsford’ (LYC).

Our relationship with LYC over the last few years gives our club members the opportunity to initiate ad-hoc litter picking expeditions around and about the Chelmsford area in locations pinpointed by LYC as needing urgent attention.

We also join the LYC annual Spring Clean-up in the City and the Keep Britain Tidy promotions for the whole country to act against littering in their local neighbourhood.

more In continuing support of our friends at Love Your Chelmsford (LYC) waste and recycling department and to take part in the Keep Britain Tidy Great Spring Clean promotion, we were able to send out two teams of litter pickers on 21 and 22 March.
