Beyond Cardiff Bay

Rotary membership is not necessarily limited to projects in our own community and some of our members contribute at district, national and international level.

Rotary is often referred to as the original social network.

The only limits are the ones we place around ourselves.

Rotary is an international network of like-minded people whose aim is to put something back into society in whatever form that may take. However there is no place for party political or religious allegiances. Rotary is at its most effective when all members are working together to achieve a common set of goals as has been proven by the campaign to eradicate Polio.

Service Above Self is our enduring motto.

There are interesting roles at district level which can be either specific e.g part of the Membership, Foundation, PR or Youth teams; or as an Area or District Governor. Leading these teams will also bring you into contact with your Rotary colleagues in other parts of Great Britain and Ireland (Rotary GB&I) and being part of Rotary at a national level.

Why stop there? Some Cardiff Bay members are currently involved at Rotary International and network with Rotarians globally through occasional meetings at HQ in Evanston, regional and international conventions and much more frequently via tele-conferencing. They are making a real difference in the world.

We also have Rotarian Action Groups which you can join if you have a passion for specific causes such as child slavery or the environment or conflict resolution; or Rotary Fellowships if you would like to join other Rotarians who have shared interests such as bird watching, cycling or whisky drinking (but not all at the same time!)

The more you put in, the more you get out.
