Once again Dorchester Casterbridge Rotary club teamed up with West Dorset CAMRA to put on the Dorchester Beerex. This year’s event exceeded all expectations and generated a massive £27,500.00 which will be donated to local good causes.

The main beneficiary was Amelia’s Rainbow, a local charity that aims to make terminally ill children’s dreams come true.

A cheque for £11,000 was presented to Amelia’s Rainbow representative Farah Batchelor at the Dorchester Youth & Community Centre. On receiving the cheque Farah said” I would like to sincerely thank Dorchester Casterbridge Rotary and West Dorset CAMRA for this massive donation.

We opened Amelia’s Haven our holiday home this week. This money will make a huge difference to the children and Amelia’s Haven. It will give around 30 local families a free holiday in their time of need”

At the same time another cheque was presented to the Dorchester Youth and Community Centre with funds raised from the raffle for £2842.00. This money will be used to keep the Youth Centre running and support youth club nights.

Casterbridge Twinning Visit 2026 with Rennes Du Guesclin Club

We had a fantastic weekend visit in France - starting 23/04/2026 to celebrate 33 years of twinning with Rennes Du Guesclin Club and their 35th Anniversary. Thank you you to everyone involved, you can see some pictures here!

On 21/04/2026 President Rachel Wilson and Rotarian Dave Harris had the pleasure of witnessing the unveiling of the new DCH hospital 'Activities Trolley', which will bust boredom for patients of all ages. Our club donated funds for the Trolley.

Well done to Mia Wright, here receiving her certificate as Dorchester Young Rotary Musician of the Year from Rachel Wilson, president.

Thank you to everyone who supported us in 2025, we look forward to doing it all again in 2026!
