The Rotary Club of Reading Matins is one of six clubs in the Town and was formed as the first breakfast club in Berkshire in 1992. The Club has approximately 24 members, both men and women drawn from the local business and professional community.
Our meetings are currently every 1st, 2nd and 3rd Wednesday at Cobbs at Englefield. Every 4th Wednesday we meet via Zoom. On the 5th Wednesday of the month we generally have an evening social event.
We have found that our "daybreak" meetings allow our professional and business members to enjoy meeting together over breakfast without compromising their work routine. We also have retired business members who wish to continue to work in the community. At these breakfast meetings we often have visiting speakers who speak on areas of their expertise which impact on business and the community.
The Club does considerable work in many areas of the community and overseas as club projects or in alliances with other clubs. Our motto is "Service above Self" and we find that by working together we can achieve more than we could manage individually. Club Membership also provides excellent networking opportunities and our social programme and weekly meetings provide friendship, opportunities for community service and lots of fun.
Membership usually results from an introduction by an existing member however we are always looking for new faces especially individuals who seek to serve the community and enjoy fun and friendship in so doing.
Should you be interested in coming to one of our meetings to see if Rotary is for you then please contact Carrie on 07769 323437
