Visit to Whitehaven Bee Club

In May 2026 we provided a new planter box down at the harbour which was planted with some lovely herbs by Helen's Herbs

At our last meeting, President Peta Leigh welcomed Helen Starkie from the Copeland Age and Advice Service, who gave a very interesting talk about the work they do for the elderly in the area

Once again, making the most of the weather, some of our members went litter picking this morning along some of the cycle track from Nisa in Mirehouse before it got too warm and humid! It is now a lot tidier.

Our Club are very proud of our newly formed Rotakids Club at Valley Primary School in Whitehaven. Just before the end of term they were presented with their Rotakids Charter at a whole school Assembly by District Youth Lead Anthony Chick

At our last meeting, we were delighted to welcome back Greg Johnson, CEO of Team Evie, to update us about the developments which they have made in the 6 years since he last talked to us.

On Saturday, our President Glynis, plus a couple of members, visited Calderwood House in Egremont during their monthly coffee morning.

We were treated to a talk from representatives of Blood Bikes and presented them with a cheque for £250 at handover night

The Whitehaven Rotary Clubs have been painting some of the lamp posts on the harbour Purple to highlight Rotary's work to eradicate Polio in the world

Our club provides ongoing support for The Foyer in Whitehaven which provides accommodation for homeless youngsters

We still have some Founder Members in the Club, so it was decided that 4 of them will share the role of President for the year!
