Mid Suffolk Rotary President Guy Wiltshear recently presented a cheque for £1,000 to The Moses Project, a local initiative dedicated to supporting young families in need. The donation was gratefully received by Nicky Thomas and Audrey Hart, who represented the project. During the meeting, Nicky Thomas gave an insightful talk about the important work The Moses Project does, helping needy families with essential items when they welcome a new baby. The club was inspired by the project’s mission and proud to support such a meaningful cause. The application went in in 2021 and the first money was transferred in 2022. The club has so far donated £5,700.
At the same meeting as the Moses Project presentation, a cheque for £500 was awarded to Laura Manchester, foster mother to a disabled young man. The donation has been used to purchase a front wheel attachment for his wheelchair, enabling him to travel over rough terrain and enjoy more outdoor activities. In the accompanying photo, Laura (far right) is seen receiving the cheque from three of the donors: Guy Wiltshear (Mid Suffolk Rotary), Steve Fenning (Forge Church), and Robin Twigge (Rotary Club of Harleston).
