District Governor Roger Percival described how Rotary had served communities worldwide for over 100 years at the Club meeting this week and he emphasised that this was at the heart of the 2010 -11 theme of ' Building communities and bridging continents'.
Key issues such as working towards worldwide provision of safe water and the elimination of polio continue to be key targets.
At club level membership growth is important and it relies on progress, vitality and good morale within the clubs.
Roger had a meeting with secretary Barry, treasurer Barry and club chairmen before the meeting and there was an opportunity for members to ask questions at the end of the talk.
Club Council meet next Monday evening at David and Margaret Mortimer's home.
