YOUTH PROGRAMMES & ACTIVITIES 2025 - 2026
We plan to improve the response from our schools, youth groups and other youth organisations this year. We invited various members of the schools and other youth organisations to join us at an afternoon tea.
This year we have been given a booklet of what Competitions and Events are available to youth, which will be of huge benefit to all.
Rotary Stars, this is normally taken up by a few schools and we are hoping other schools will join this year, as it is ever popular amongst Schools, pupils and their peers as it often recognises positive contributions in challenging circumstances.
This year we plan to promote Junior Speaks, this isn’t a competition but gives children aged between 9 to 11 a chance to talk in front of an audience of parents, teachers and other interested adults, on a subject of their choice for two to four minutes. They will be given a badge and certificate and a voucher. This is a starting point to encourage future participation in Rotary Youth Speaks competition.
Goals for the year ahead:
Rotary Childrens FunDay (formerly KidsOut) - plan to fund two buses so we can once again include Bury, home school-ers and Little Miracles as we successfully enjoyed in June 2025.
Rotary Stars.
Youth Competitions -
RYLA / Young RYLA
Coats4Kids - such a non-judgemental way of helping any family in real need.
Rotakids - for promotional materials as needed to start programme in local schools.
Life Education Bus.
