The annual Primary Schools Quiz was held on 23rd February, with a record 13 local primary schools and 275 Year 6 pupils taking part. Each school was able to use all its pupils in Year 6 and, just like the Pub Quiz, there was a Rotary Quizmaster in every school, each asking the questions at the same time.
The winners were Houghton, closely pursued by Hemingford Grey. The picture above is of the winning team with the trophy! The trophy was presented by President Sally and she was accompanied by the Quiz organizer, Adrian Acton.
Each school received a £50 donation to its funds as reward for taking part and a lot of fun was had by everyone - pupils, teachers and, above all, the quizmasters!
We received some tremendously positive feedback, not just from the children taking part, but especially from their teachers.
The overall standard achieved this year was again excellent and is a great credit to the teachers in our local schools. The whole evening was another outstanding success with everyone thoroughly enjoying themselves and, importantly, it gave the pupils involved the opportunity to display teamwork and the broad depth of their knowledge.
We are already looking forward to holding this event again next year !
