Fun at Grafham Water!

The Club hosted a day of adventurous activities for young carers from Caring Together at the Grafham Water Centre.

Activities started with a morning of Sailing

The Rotary Club of St Ives hosted a day of fun and adventure at the Grafham Water Centre on 30th July for a group of young carers, who are supported by Caring Together, a local charity.  These young people (all under 16 and many under 10) help parents, grandparents and siblings who are in need of support, on a day to day basis and give up much of their spare time as a result.  It is both a privilege and a pleasure for the Rotary Club to give them a little respite and bring something different into their lives.  The smiles on their faces at the end told us just how worthwhile it had been!

After a morning of sailing and a packed lunch, the group moved on to the indoor climbing wall.

And the day was rounded off with an archery session.

it was a great day, thoroughly enjoyed by all.  Our thanks go to the Grafham Water Centre staff, who made it all so enjoyable for these wonderful children.
