Introducing James Lee – Incoming President of the Rotary Club of King’s Lynn - Quantity Surveyor, Property Developer, and Walthamstow’s Second-Finest Son.
Born in the proud borough of Walthamstow, London, to Arthur and Doreen Lee, James is the middle child – which explains his talent for negotiation, diplomacy, and occasionally being ignored.
His older brother Eric became a top oncologist in the USA, healing lives and speaking fluent medical Latin. His younger brother Joe splits his time between lorry driving and acting, depending on whether the auditions or the A47 are moving faster.
James took a different path – into the thrilling world of Quantity Surveying, where he quickly became a master of valuations, variations, and vacuum flask coffee. As a property developer, he’s known for spotting opportunities others miss – mostly because they were buried under Schedule 4 of the Bill of Quantities.
Happily married to Christina, James is a proud father of three daughters, and now a grandfather to two grandsons – courtesy of his eldest, who gave him the honour of being called “Gramps” while he was still insisting he was in his prime.
Now stepping up as President of the Rotary Club of King’s Lynn, James has pledged to focus Rotary’s support on local causes – bringing his trademark energy, experience, and perhaps a few unsolicited planning drawings. His leadership style will be part Winston Churchill, part building inspector – with occasional biscuits.
Get ready for a year of action, laughter, and probably a few tales about Walthamstow – because under the hard hat, behind the surveyor’s clipboard, James Lee is a man on a mission: to build a better community, one well-measured step at a time.
