A wonderful hospice-at-home for children

Trustee and founder Robert Breakwell
talks about the
Pepper Foundation and Pepper Show
30 April 2025

Robert Breakwell is flanked by President Richard and Rotarian Dave Bevan. Musician Dave participated in several of the Pepper Shows.

Over three decades ago, Pepper Trustee and Founder Robert Breakwell orchestrated the inaugural Pepper Show, bringing together local musicians and vocalists to commemorate the Beatles’ renowned ‘Sgt. Pepper’ album and raise funds for local charity, Iain Rennie Hospice Care.

Five years later, the show had evolved into an annual event, culminating in the establishment of the Pepper Foundation in 1993.

Initially, the funds were allocated to provide a single full-time nurse for Hospice-at-home care for children.

Presently, the ‘Helen and Douglas House’ and ‘Keech Hospice Care’ organisations have succeeded ‘Rennie Grove Hospice Care’ as the charities through which Pepper provides funding for six nurses.

We were pleased to contribute another £1000 to this very worthwhile cause.
