THE FINAL TRAINING WALK TO CORFE CASTLE

Tue, May 14th 2019 at 10:00 am - 6:30 pm

The culmination of a number of training walks. Now - What Next??

The walk reaches Corfe Castle.

The Final Walk

The ‘final’ walk took place on Tuesday 14th May when 10 of us, plus Steve’s dog Nova, walked from Studland to Corfe Castle, and back. We met at Middle Beach Car Park at 10:00, except the organiser and passengers who arrived late!!

Phil and Fiona were there early, keen to get going and were joined by Anne and George, Steve Timms and dog, Penny, Sally, Shirley and her cousin, Sue, and myself.

It started out quite cool with a breeze from the east but the as the sun rose so did the temperature and visibility was such that we could see towards St Catherine’s Point on the Island.

It was dry underfoot, the sun shone all day, and the temperature rose to 15 degrees, providing perfect walking conditions.

We all arrived at Corfe at 13:30 and shared lunch-time together at The Greyhound where the food and drink were much appreciated and very tasty. We separated after lunch with Phil and Fiona joining Steve and Nova on a train trip to Swanage. They then walked along the coastal path back to Studland arriving at 18:30.

The remaining 7 of us completed the walk along the lower path back to Studland without injury arriving at 17:30. We were very tired but satisfied.

That was the Final Walk but…….what next? We are thinking about our next challenge!!!! It would be a shame to waste the fitness levels achieved!!
