The International Group is made up of Club members who have an interest in supporting projects that impact the worldwide community.
The group is lead by a Convenor whose role is to engage group members, chair meetings, coordinate tasks and ensure goals are met. The Convenor is responsible for reporting back to the Club and is a member of the Club Council.
Since Covid our international team has been fantastic and very busy making a big difference throughout our international community. The team has been involved with Shelter Box, Médecins Sans Frontieres, Project Mala and End Polio Now as well as helping provide clean water for Ukraine and being involved in First Steps Himalaya.
Through a fantastic effort the international team has collected thousands of glasses which are sent away via a charity called Spec Sort and end up benefiting people in countries like Malawi this as well as the Rotary shoeboxes and the spontaneous requirements to support disaster funds such as the Dec Turkey and Syria Earthquake Appeal our international team certainly goes the extra mile.
Group members, or any Club member, can raise causes which can then be discussed to agree whether support can be given and at what level.
The group is actively involved in raising funds for the Club’s charity fund by hosting Soup lunches, Afternoon teas, manning stalls at Highland Games, Farmers Markets and school and community events.
