Weekly Club Meeting

Fri, May 10th 2019 at 12:45 pm - 2:00 pm

Speaker: Christine Crossley - “Buddies”

Club members please log in for more information.

Buddies aims to support adults with (primarily learning) disability to live their lives as independently and autonomously as they are able to.

We promote key skills for life and think outside the box to deliver this. We have two main projects led by Buddies' members (not service users!): life long learning via our Library Lovers and partnerships with Nationwide, the Police and Fire Service who help with delivery of the 3rs and Biker Buddies. We have just opened up Biker Buddies Bike Barn so all groups can have the benefit of inclusive cycling: our latest acquisition is a rickshaw for taking older people outside to enjoy passive cycling. We find this a great vehicle for sharing inter generational skills and understanding.

All this is just a posh way of saying our members have great fun making and maintaining friendships whilst having their life skills unwittingly reinforced!
