At last week's meeting, local Rotarians and their friends enjoyed the annual Scots Night. Following the fine meal when some partook of the traditional haggis, neeps and tatties, entertainment was provided by Michael Aitken, Geoff Ross, Joyce Tinlin and Jim Walker. It was event organiser Jim who opened the show with what he described as the aria to 'The Wee Cock Sparra'. Michael provided an outstanding performance of 'Tam o' Shanter', while Geoff and Joyce enchanted their audience with numbers such as 'My Heart's in the Highlands' (a Jo Stafford favourite from the 1950s), the Kenny Spiers number 'My Borderland', and 'Aye Waukin O'. Michael also bemused the gathering with his high speed rendition of 'Mary Mack'. Past President Mairhi Trickett delivered a well deserved Vote of Thanks at the end of a super evening.
