Wed, May 16th 2012 at 12:00 am - 2:00 am

The 100th anniversary of the establishment of The Royal Flying Corps

The Royal Flying Corps (RFC) came into being by Royal Warrant on 13 May 2012.

Nigel explained its purpose at that time and how it developed from just reconnaissance to artillery observation, photography, bombing, strafing as well as contact fighter and escort duties by the scout planes.

With Hugh Trenchard as their Commander in the Field, the RFC pilots were instructed to be always on the offensive
