Our Youth and Vocational Committee works with many schools in the borough to provide various support projects and competitions


Working to help young lives in the local community

Twickenham upon Thames Rotary Club loves to provide support to schools in the local area. We currently run or help to run:

  • Young Chef Competition
  • Young Writer Competition
  • Young Artist Competition
  • Technology Tournament
  • Interview Skills Programme at GCSE level
  • Interview Skills Programme at University Entrance level
  • Junior School Chess Club
  • World War II Presentation

and we send some lucky children on a Leadership course (outward bound style) most years.

Technology Tournament led by Twickenham Rotary Club

more A Technology Tournament is run every year for schools in Richmond Borough. It is led by Twickenham Rotary Club with help from TuT and other local Rotary Clubs and up to twelve of the local schools. This year's Tournament took place on 19th March 2019

more Rotary Club members help with teaching and encouraging enthusiastic pupils in their regular Chess sessions, which have become very popular.

Madogo School experinces Kew Gardens and London

more In April 2012 two teachers and two pupils from Madago school in Kenyan spent two weeks in Waldegrave School for Girls as part of a cultural exchange between the two schools. Our club offered to show them higlights of Kew Gardens and Museum of London.

more Seven students from Waldegrave School and four from Twickenham Academy took part with great enthusiasm in the tenth local round of the Rotary Young Chef competition, kindly hosted, once again, by Waldegrave School, on Tuesday, 8th November 2016.
