Community and Vocational

Working with local community groups and schools

The Intergenerational Group is active again on Wednesdays at Dunbar Grammar School. Launched in 2019, and suspended during Covid, it brings together pupils and 'more mature' members of the community. In October 2022, the Club presented the Group with a Service Recognition Award - the photo shows the pupils and Rotarians, while the 'older-in-age' members are at tables where their meal will be served!

This committee organises collections in support of Marie Curie, RNLI, East Lothian Food Bank and Dunbar Christmas Lights.

An annual MacMillan Coffee Morning is held, a stall at the Harbour Festival, and during the summer our weekly Book Stall on the High Street.

We support the Dunbar Day Centre with the Christmas Lunches for the elderly and engage with other local clubs at the East Fortune Air Show where we supply wrist bands for children.

The biggest event of the year was our annual Charity Shop involving most members of the club over the two week period and was our single biggest fund raiser. Unfortunately, first Covid, now the difficulty of 'borrowing' a suitable shop, have caused plans for a Charity Shop to be 'on hold' this year.
