THE CLUB ADMIN COMMITTEE 2023 - 2024
The committee has the following responsibilities
The Committee will take the lead in the following activities for 2023 - 2024
Strategic Plan:
Our major focus is to increase club visibility. Ideas include:
· Board in Library
· Environmental projects/activities (with an emphasis on schools)
· Rangers/Guides/Scouts/Cadets.
· Listening Evening in Wistow. We collect a lot of float money in Wistow, but haven’t spent any there. We are planning a meet up with locals at the Three Horseshoes to discuss how we can help the village.
We are looking to be present at as many town events as possible, and to ensure visibility we are looking at a bulk buy of hi-vis reflective jackets for members, to add to the tabards we already have.
We have had a major push under way to increase relevance in Warboys, establishing an Impact Companion Club with four new Members soon to be inducted into Rotary. Many thanks to June Green for her lead on this, and all helpers. This, and the “Each One Bring One” initiative, is already bearing fruit. We want younger people to know who we are and what we do.
We have fundraising events already pencilled-in to Christmas and beyond: the Santa Float, the Grand Christmas Draw, the regular Race Night to mention a few. While last year was a strong year for fundraising, all the signs point to this coming year being good also. We are tempering forecasts in light of the economic pressures, but the generosity of Ramsey people is something we can rely on.
Youth
We are looking to get back into schools and Youth groups to re-engage with our young people, who are Rotary’s future, after a 2-year break. We will be looking for candidates for Young RYLA and also for a Youth Exchange candidate.
Social events
The normal range of Club social events continues, and Wendy Hopkins is still as keen as ever to help us inject the fun into fundraising. Thank you, Wendy.
Our Charter Dinner is on 19th July 2024 at Lakeside Lodge.
Booking process
We now have a robust and reliable online setup for this, using Googledocs. It is flexible and will be useable for all purposes where opt-in/out or polling of members is needed, so we expect to use it a lot. It does require access to the internet, but everyone already has a smartphone or computer for email.
General
Charlotte has successfully sourced a rather smart collapsible gazebo for events, with sides, windows and weatherproof fabric all round. We are now sourcing a Rotary logo panel to add to it, to ensure we are “visible”. We are also looking for large presentation cheques for PR purposes. Lynne Paul is once again able to look after PR with her excellent articles for local newspapers and other publications, and is co-ordinating Facebook posts, with assistance from other members.
Our activities, and particularly fundraising efforts, are very much a team effort, and I hope that I can count on all members to support us in making the coming year another one to remember.
