Membership and Social

Outline of the work done by the Membership and Social Committee.


The Rotary Club of Abergavenny is an active and vibrant Club where members like to enjoy their membership and have fun while working to benefit the community and those less fortunate than others.

The Social Committee is responsible for deciding on and organising a range of social events each year for members, their partners and guests to enjoy.  In addition to weekly lunches or dinners for members and a monthly dinner with partners (usually including an after-dinner speaker), other social events enjoyed by the Club include:-

  • Progressive Supper.
  • Call My Bluff at the Sugar Loaf Vineyard.
  • Annual BBQ.
  • Annual Everest Cup Golf Match between Abergavenny and Crickhowell Rotary Clubs
  • Inter-Club Quiz competitions
  • Exchange visits with other Clubs most recently with Jaroslaw Rotary Club in Poland in June 2022. 
  • Murder Mystery Evening at the Llanwenarth Village Hall
  • Indoor Sports Competition between Abergavenny, Chepstow, Monmouth and Ross-on-Wye Rotary Clubs
  • Visit to the German Christmas Market in Munich December 2023.

The Membership Committee is responsible for identifying and inviting prospective members to attend Club meetings (as guests of the Club) and apply for membership of the Club. Two new members have joined the Club since July 2023 and we have also recruited our first Associate Member. We are always looking to recruit new members.

Monmouth RC Hosts Indoor Sports Night at the Royal Oak Monmouth

more Teams from Abergavenny, Chepstow, Monmouth and Ross Rotary Clubs competed for the prestigious Champions River Rock Trophy at the Royal Oak Monmouth with Abergavenny triumphant for two years in a row! A fun night for one and all.

Rotary twin clubs visit Abergavenny
