Our Work in Kenya

The Rotary Clubs of Blythe Bridge,Stone, Wednesbury and Willenhall joined together to provide 300 Primary School Children. This is often the only meal each day. The cost of the meals is £575 a month and they now will be fed for the next four months.

Following our annual Christmas fundraising the club is donating laptops to schools in the Blythe Bridge area.

Village income is generated by buying 100 day old chickens and rear them to 6 weeks old when they are sold. The profit then goes to buy books, pencils and other equipment for the school.

The club's support to the village of Monze in Kenya continues.

The project now contributes to the cost of a teacher for the village children. ( A cost of £30 per month) The sale of eggs and chicken meat help go towards funding the cost of the teacher.

Books being presented to Head Boy and Head Girl at the William Amory School in Blythe Bridge.

In December President Enid, together with Youth Services Committee members Bob and Kate, attended a school assembly at the William Amory School in Blythe Bridge. They had great pleasure in presenting over 220 books to the school.

A night to be remembered ! Following dinner at the Upper House guests were entertained by international star Elinor Jane Moran. Elinor tours with Andre Rieu. The party continued into the small hours with a disco.

A Global grant of $40,000USD delivering phonics training to 2400 Children and 48 teachers over 2 years in 6 schools in economically poor communities in the Province of KwaZulu-Natal.

This joint venture between the Rotary Club of Blythe Bridge & District, Rotary Club Pinetown South Africa District, Bolton Daybreak Club (UK) and the Rotary Club of Salem Massachusetts USA District.

On the 18th May the club supported national blood pressure day at Tesco Meir Park. The cub arranged for doctors and qualified nurses to take people's blood pressure.
