We support and encourage the young people of Andover by organising competitions such as:
Youth Speaks
This competition aims to offer young people:
· experience in speaking on a public platform as a member of a team
· an incentive to formulate ideas on topical subjects
· discipline in dealing with a topic in a limited time
· the opportunity of learning and practising high standards of expression, presentation and appearance
· impartial feedback and assessment of performance by experienced adjudicators
Who can take part?
The competition is open all schools and college communities including those that are home educated and any other young people’s community organisations, for example, Scout Groups and Girl Guides.
Each team will comprise of three students in full time education in two age groups:
Intermediate 11 to 13 years
Senior 14 to 17 years
Young Writer
This competition aims to encourage young people to:
· use their writing skills
· write with imagination and creativity
Who can take part?
The competition is open to all schools and college communities including those that are home educated and any other young peoples’ community organisations, for example, community RotaKids, community Interact, Scout Groups, Girl Guides.
The three age groups are:
Junior 7 to 10 years old
Intermediate 11 to 13 years old
Senior 14 to 17 years old
Entrants must not be above the age parameters for each group on 31 August 2020.
Young Photographer
Aims and Objectives
The competition aims to encourage young people to:
· experiment with photography
· use digital and/or traditional methods of photography
· demonstrate interpretation of the topic
· express ideas through the medium of photography
Who can take part?
There are three age groups:
Junior: 7 to 10 years old
Intermediate: 11 to 13 years old
Senior: 14 to 17 years old

Bring the family and bikes to ride at Thruxton next Sunday 4th September. Ride in safety without traffic on a tarred surface. As many laps as you like. Just £10 per family. All proceeds to Rotary Andover's charity account to support the local community
