SWIMFEST 2016

Sat, Nov 12th 2016 at 3:00 pm - 6:00 pm

Our club's 2016 Swimfest was held on Saturday November 12th at Lutterworth Sports Centre when 12 teams from local schools and clubs swam in a sponsored swim raising money for their own organisation and contributing to Rotary approved charities.

SWIMFEST is Lutterworth's Festival of Swimming. Since the first SwimFest in 2004, nearly £50,000 has been raised by the teams taking part. This money has been donated to a number of local and national charities. This year the chosen charities are:

Lutterworth Share & Care Group

Leicestershire Life Education Centres Trust

Rotary Approved Charities & Good Causes

Saturday November 12th saw the thirteenth SwimFest in Lutterworth Sports Centre's pool. Once again, the afternnon was hugely enjoyable with the sheer enthusiasm of all taking part, from primary school pupils raising money for their school, up to a team of, let's say "an older generation", swimming to raise money for a Lutterworth based dimentia care charity (The Lutterworth Share and Care Group)

The money raised during the afternoon will make a real difference in our schools and in our community.  The Rotary Clun of Lutterworth Wycliffe would like to thank Serco and all those at the Sports Centre who helped us stage the event, as well as those taking part.
