Richard Morgan-Wynne introduces Graham Binningsley whose talk is entitled 'All at Sea' Stewards:- Lead Michael Tiddy - 2nd Graham Tresidder (Meeting Report)

Mr. Graham Binningsley gave us a very good and at times funny talk called "All at sea", a resume of his life in the Royal Navy.
He  joined the Navy in 1965 aged 15 years and stayed with them  until he retired in the mid 1990`s. He started in the gunnery branch serving on HMS Ashanti where he saw action in Aden, then he progressed to HMS Verulem were he trialled a new sonar device, following on was a spell on HMS Excellent where he was a gun layers armourer, then became quartermaster his next ship HMS Dido. HMS Caledonia was followed by a sub lieutenant position on HMS Tiger then he moved on to a mine hunter, HMS Iverston, finally ending up as a master gunner on HMS Norfolk. his talk was extremely entertaining and there was enough material left over for another visit to our club. The talk was warmly received by all the members present.
