Deafness affects 1 in 6 people in the UK and Lindsay told us of the work of the Signature charity in promoting improvements in communications for such people.  She was accompanied by Jade Wiseman who described the work of the "Get Deaf Aware" organisation, associated with Signature, which provides training for the staff of companies and other institutions.  It is even possible to gain a GCSE in the British Sign Language!
