New member Matthew Stinson gave an entertaining job talk to Grimsby Rotary on Wednesday 15
th June at the weekly lunch meeting. He took us on a whistle stop tour of his hugely varied career to date - from his early days at JW Joyce Engineering as a welder, through his Army days (mostly playing football) in Germany, via managing advertising sales at the Grimsby & Scunthorpe Telegraphs where he won awards for most creative adverts, and latterly as a Pharmaceutical & Healthcare Representative for Chiesi Pharmaceuticals and Lilly respectively. We heard how this rich jigsaw of jobs has well equipped him for his current role as founder and MD of Raven Facility Management (
http://www.ravenfm.co.uk/), providing property maintenance to multi-site portfolios in the commercial and retail sectors, with a specialism in GP practices. Matt explained how his endeavours to achieve cost reductions and ongoing value for money for all his clients in N E Lincolnshire has led to his next project under Raven which will see him form an innovative medical products buying group with several GP practices. Bringing the talk to a close Matthew talked briefly about his role as an independent North East Lincolnshire Councillor. President Elect Michael Bull led a vote of thanks (with memorably droll aid from Sergeant at Arms John Tuke).
