Rotary in the East Midlands has been running the Rotary Young Musician for more than 20 years, and The Rotary Club of Lutterworth Wycliffe is a keen participant in this event.

The Club Heat of the Rotary Young Musician Competition was held at Lutterworth High School on Sunday 22nd January 2017, and on Saturday 4th March, 5 young musicians sponsored by the Rotary Clubs of Lutterworth took part in the District Semi-final of the Rotary Young Musician Competition in Melton Mowbray. Sophie Costa (harp), Eleanor Colwell (flute), Rita Feditsa (piano), Jessie Lea (vocal) and Jessica Adams (clarinet). They all performed extremely well in a competition with a high standard.

In the Junior solo instrumental category Sophie Costa gained first place to go through to the District Final and in the intermediate vocal category Jessie Lea also gained a place in the District Final. This takes place on Sunday 19th March at Leicester Grammar School and we wish them both well in this next round of the competition.
