The business may have been routine, but we had the most unusual pleasure of welcoming a visiting Rotarian from France.
Eric DuFour is a member of the Rotary Club of Cassel / Wormhout en Flandre - a club in northern France, not far from Dunkrk, Calais and Boulogne.
President Fari was happy to exchange Club banners with Eric
Eric is in Durham because his company, Dutrie, is providing the fog for the Lumiere installation "Fogscape" which conjures up the legend of St. Cuthbert's Mist, which saved Durham Cathedral from German bombers during the Second World War.
The heading photo was taken (by me on my phone!) in pouring rain on the Saturday evening of Lumiere - but I think it illustrates the "brumisation" achieved by Eric's technology very well. - EC
