A talk by Rtn. Elaine Smith about a District-wide Project in support of handicapped people in Sri Lanka

The Kandy Project

Elaine, a member of the Rotary Club of Alnwick, gave us an excellent presentation on this District-wide project.

The project supports The Centre for Handicapped in Kandy, Sri Lanka, which provides artificial limbs and other aids for amputees and people with congenital defects. It has its own workshop which produces "made to measure" limbs. It also provides wheelchairs.  The project will help to fund an extension to the workshop and the provision of further expert training for the workshop staff.

There's more information on this project on the District website.
