We were then entertained to an excellent talk by Andrew Pass on the history of Diamonds. Explaining where they have been found around the world, how they were formed, how the ore is extracted and how they separated the rough diamonds from the ore.
Finally he went into the science of cutting the gems into saleable commodities, showing us examples of the different grades of the finished products.
A vote of thanks was given Sandra Houlston, the President of Nantwich Inner Wheel.
