Marketing, Public Relations and Communication Report. Sarah Perris

The Rotary club of Nantwich has been very busy promoting the club and its many activities.

In the past year the club has issued 13 very impressive press releases – one a month, all of which have been used in at least one media outlet.

This is to continue for rotary year 2016/17.

The clubs Twitter and Facebook presence will be reactivated, which will further enhance the clubs presence.

The stories to be released in the next 12 months will be varied and include our many generous donations to local charities, important club appointments (First ever Woman president). Coverage of the Christmas Santa visit to the town. Primary school Art and Handwriting Competition. Also fund – raising on behalf of our good friends in Nepal.

The club website is up to date and RC central needs to be checked to update information.

Environment Committee. Tony Hoy.

Having successfully teamed with Nantwich Civic Society in planting a hedge along the waterlode in march, RC Nantwich members subsequently helped weed, clean and paint the steps of the Nantwich Aqueduct in April.

As a result of this Tony Hoy has become both a member of Nantwich Civic society and the Nantwich partnership set to manage Town Centre Renovations, with Nantwich town council and Cheshire East council.

Activities planned for the year ahead are;-

Painting the Fairfax Bridge lights.

Cleaning the weaver way bridges.

Painting the pedestrian bollards along Monks Lane. (In the Towns conservation area).

And many other projects in the local area.

Club Fellowship Programmes

The club has a full programme of activities throughout the year.

They also have the traditional Christmas float which is one of the largest fundraiser of the year.

Club Administration. Keith Chesters.

The administrator will help to ease and organise any wishes of the president in making the year a successful one.

Also assist in the smooth running of the club on a weekly basis with a member timetable indicating their Rota to either introduce a speaker of their choice or give a talk themselves.

A rota of stewards to look after guests and to give a vote of thanks and to collect the weekly dues for the meal and organise meals and function caterers

To circulate as much publicity as possible in the local community.

At council meetings, bringing together events of committees to arrange flow functions and also produce Safety and risk assessments for their event including weekly meetings.

Continue with the club webs access.

To encourage members to introduce new members to the club wherever they seek an opportunity.

Finally to help with any questions members have and uphold the policy of child and vulnerable adult protection policy.

Assistant Governor’s Summary

A very warm welcome on my arrival and a very nice meeting place which is well suited to the club. A nice meal and pleasant fellowship before the meeting took place. The club is very well organised indeed and has an exciting programme for the year ahead. The club gives off a very positive feel. Their input to the local community is to be applauded. A very nice atmosphere and a very nice evening. I emphasised the Purple crocus appeal from the RGBI and look forward to their involvement in this.

On a note the club should stride to enter the Presidential citation for 2016/17 as many of the activities in the club they are already doing and it would be a case of just ticking the boxes for this award.

Please keep up to date with My Rotary and Rotary Club Central.

Please be aware that all events organized by the club must have a Risk assessment and this is to be Forwarded to Mike Lade at district 1180 MPRC well before the event.

Finally good luck to Christine and the Rotary club of Nantwich for the new Rotary year.

John Walton.
