OASIS YOUTH CLUB, TITCHFIELD GETS £1000 DONATION FROM FAREHAM MEON ROTARY CLUB
This week, Tina Collins, one of the professional Leaders of the Oasis Youth Club in Titchfield, received a cheque for £1000 from President Tony Billings. Committee member Julia Mills said “We are absolutely delighted that Fareham Meon Rotary Club have been able to support us again this year to help our Club keep going. We provide a safe & fun environment for children in two groups – 10-13 year olds & 13-16 years olds - in the Community centre in Titchfield – when there is virtually nothing for them to do in the village in the evening.”
At the presentation during the boisterous 10-13 year old meeting, the 23 children present heard President Tony say “It is great for our Club to be able to support you – and very rewarding to see that some of the original young members like Alice are now, after 4 years, volunteer helpers in the Club.”

On Tuesday, I visited the Oasis Youth Club in Titchfield to present a cheque for £1000 to Tina, one of the professional Leaders of the Club. This club has over 30 members in the 10 -16 age range & provides a fun & safe environment with lots of activities – when there is virtually nothing for them to do in the village. Like many local charities & groups, the Club has suffered from the removal of many grants, so we are very pleased to be able to support them again this year, as last year, to keep this excellent amenity going. The picture shows me with Julia, one of the committee, and Alice – who 4 years ago was one of the original members and is now a volunteer helper. They have recently been doing their own fund raising with jumble sales, car washing, etc - and raised £369 – which will be increased with a matching donation from the Titchfield Community Centre (where they meet) to £738, a great achievement!
