Swimathon 2016 - Presentation Evening
Fri 2nd September 2016 at 19.00 - 22.30
Presentations made to good causes
Following our successful Swimathon in July, we took the opportunity during our Race Night at the Nissan Sports & Leisure Complex to make presentations of cheques to many of the organisations supported through the event.
Over £3000 was realised through sponsorship secured by the participating teams, and amongst those receiving donations were:-
Rainbow Trust Children's Charity
1st Washington Scouts
Trish 'n' Trina School of Dance
Sunderland Autism Outreach Team
Help for Heroes
Washington Aquatics Swimming Club
Type 1 Diabetes Support
Fatfield Musical Stage Society
Our Rotary Club will also be able to make further contributions to other good causes from the funds raised.
Thank you to all of the teams that took part and we look forward to seeing you again at the Washington Leisure centre next year for Swimathon 2017.
