Community and Projects Committee
Looks after local community projects.
Community and Projects Committee, as its name indicates, looks after local community projects as well as some further afield. One of our events includes organising, with the help of many others from both inside and outside of Rotary, the catering for the Rotary food hall at the Truckfest held at Steventon annually. It includes arranging all of the logistics for the event from putting up the tent to arranging the clean-up afterwards. This is the club's main fundraiser for the year and makes a staggering sum of money for our charity account. .
We deal with requests from local organisations. This can be for a simple request from a local organisation requiring additional help with funding or the supply of a First Responder pack to the South Central Ambulance Service.
Another main event of the year is the Didcot Street Fair, where in the past we have provided doughnuts and more recently crepes.
Having raised the money locally much of it goes back to local causes and we have a community grant project where local organisations can apply for money. This can be from the Scouts, Guides, Army Cadets or any local organisation that may require some funding.
