Fleckney Library Project 2017

Rotary provide comfortable seating

Rotary Club supports new community Library in Fleckney

The Fleckney Library reopened as a Community Library in March 2016.  The Rotary Club of Kibworth and Fleckney was so impressed with Linda Marshall and her fellow trustees, who had worked tirelessly to keep the Library going, that it wanted to help in some way.  In the last two years the Rotary Club has raised funds locally and applied for a Rotary District Matching Grant.  In total £2300 was raised and this money enabled the Club to purchase 4 chairs, 2 settees and two coffee tables. The chairs arrived at the end of 2017.

This now provides a relaxing area for visitors and users to read in a comfy chair with a hot drink by their side. The seating area is adequately signed that it was provided by Rotary and will be used to promote Rotary and our club in particular in the future.

As well as supporting projects worldwide eg Polio Eradication, Rotary has always mainly supported the local community.
