Arun Young Musicians

In 1981 the Rotary Club of Littlehampton established Arun Young Musicians (AYM),  as a means of encouraging youngsters to take up a musical instrument.  Initially, it was just locally within the Littlehampton area, then it covered the Arun District Council area and nowadays it is West Sussex county wide.  AYM has become a major music competition and over the years some splendid musicians owe their careers to the starts they made through our Rotary Club.  The event consists of a long weekend with classes (auditions), where musicians perform in front of adjudicators who judge the playing of instruments, whatever they are, including everything from drums to recorders and also includes singers and choirs.

Regetfully, owing to the COVID 19 pandemic, no Festival was held in 2020 and it will not be feasible to organise one in 2021 either. However we certainly hope to hold a Festival in 2022.
