Dinner (6.45) and Dr James Playfair, UK trustee for Reaching The Unreached

Dr James Playfair is a trustee of the UK charity which supports Reaching The Unreached. He has been involved for several years in helping to raise money and awareness for the Indian charity which actually decides upon and provides the support needed.
Reaching The Unreached has been working for more than fifty years to support the very poor and disadvantaged of Tamil Nadu, southern India. It is primarily focused upon children and their needs, from love, to food, to homes, to education, to health, to families in which they can thrive. If the need is apparent to those locally, after talking to the local people, the charity will set about meeting that need - the range is quite extraordinary.
The club is planning a visit to India in January which has several days at RTU as the main focus of the trip. Places are still available and are not limited to Rotarians. Conscious of the need for rapid access to defibrillators following a coronary event, Wells Rotary has been working to make these life-saving machines available to the public at all times. It is an ongoing project.
