Grand Gardening Fair
Our second annual Grand Gardening Fair in the Railway Gardens, Sturminster Newton, was a grand success!
The 2nd Annual Grand Gardening Fair held in the Railway Gardens, Sturminster Newton - a great success!
The sun shone and the shoppers came...
Almost 20 stalls filled the Railway Gardens on Saturday 3rd June, including plant growers, garden equipment, garden furniture, the Rotary cake stall and tombola, and 'Hawks in the Forest' - Elvis the Eagle Owl, a Barn owl and a two-week-old owl chick (who were only to happy to pose for photos).
The event, along with the Beer Festival and Craft Fair in The Exchange, brought some very welcome - and happy - footfall into the town. The 'Sturminster Newton News' Facebook page was filled with grateful locals who'd had a good time and who much appreciated the effort taken to organise the events (and the 'Big Lunch' the following day) for the town. Feedback from shops in the town was that the additional footfall had benefitted them too, which is excellent news.
The money raised for Rotary charities and good causes was £507 - over 3 times the amount raised last year.
Our thanks go to all the traders that attended the event, a special thank you to our friends at the Exchange that allowed us to use some of their facilities, and to everyone who came to support.
See you next year!
