Foodbank Collection at Tescos

more A number of our members have been supporting Tescos with their food collection at Stairfoot, Hoyland and Penistone. Our members have been overwhelmed with the generosity of Barnsley people. 168 crates of food and £444.00 cash, Well done everyone.

more Club members are involved with 'Grow Penistone' an initiative based at the Spring Vale Community Garden dedicated to growing fresh fruit and vegetables and maintaining a lovely community facility. The picture is the wildflower garden.

more Rockley furnace and engine house are very important industrial heritage buildings in Rockley woods. Rotary are working with South Yorks Industrial Heritage Society to clear and fully survey this remarkable survivor of an earlier industrial age.


more President Geoff Goodlad and Rockley President Steve Woodcock at a presentation to Rtn Tom Knight on 28 June. Tom cycled to every Rotary Club in South Yorks raising money for MC, the chosen charity for Tour de France. Tom raised £4632 - £250 from us.

2. What we do locally

back Stainborough Rotary Club is very active in the community, supporting worthy causes such as Centrepoint, Silkstone Scout Camp and Young People’s leadership programme. The Club also helps Santa with his Sleigh every Christmas.
