Once again the Rotary Club of Wakefield Chantry organised a “Know your Blood Pressure” session at the Riding Shopping Centre in Wakefield, in conjunction with the Stroke Association, to help raise awareness of the dangers of high blood pressure in relation to a person’s likelihood of having a stroke. Over 180 people were tested over a 6 hour period in the Ridings recently with one person being sent immediately to hospital for a further check, and two being sent to the Walk-In centre. In addition some 20 people were advised to see their GP in the near future for help in controlling their blood pressure.
