Rotary "Stars" recognises and rewards Primary School age children for acts of good citizenship
Schoolchildren are ‘Rotary Stars’
Stamford Burghley Rotary recently presented seven pupils from Bluecoat School with ‘Rotary Stars’ for their work helping others in the community, as part of its promotion of good citizenship by young people.
The activities were wide ranging and included leading a community litter collection initiative, fundraising for a local oncology unit and caring for a sick relative.
The Club’s President John Sutcliffe is pictured with the proud recipients of the awards with Mrs Carol Hines, Headteacher who commented ‘we are extremely proud of all of the children who received Rotary Stars awards this term. Each and every one of them displayed huge generosity of spirit in their actions to help and support others and they deserve this recognition of their kindness. They have made a very positive difference to the lives of others through their good citizenship and commitment to putting others before themselves
